The Cuillins and Skye Paintings
Welcome to my gallery of The Cuillins and Skye paintings, including Sgurr nan Gillean from Sligachan, Bla Bheinn across Loch Slapin, Marsco and of course the Cuillin Ridge from Elgol across Loch Scavaig. Made famous now by films, I could not resist a watercolour painting of The Old Man Of Storr, both in close-up and from the Storr Lochans.
West coast sunsets are wonderful and these show the Cuillin Hills to their best advantage, especially from the mainland at Badicaul. The west coast of Skye has many beautiful beaches, coves and inlets, Talisker Bay being just one of these and i have captured this at sunset in watercolours.
The Cuillin is a range of rocky mountains located on the picturesque Isle of Skye in Scotland. The main Cuillin ridge is also known as the Black Cuillin to distinguish it from the Red Cuillin, which lie to the east of Glen Sligachan. The ridge comprises of some of the best and most difficult climbing in the Scotland, with rocky pinnicles rising dramtically from the sea.
