Winter Wastwater painted in watercolours

Wastwater and The Scafells Paintings

Welcome to my page of  Wastwater and The Scafells Paintings. Formed by glaciation, Wastwater is the deepest lake in the National Park surrounded by Scafell Pike, Scafell, Great Gable and Yewbarrow –  some of the highest peaks in the park too. It attracts many walkers and climbers to the area. One of the best panoramic views of the valley is as you travel along the road to Wasdale village, it includes Yewbarrow, Great Gable, Lingmell, Scafell Pike and Scafell (known as the Wasdale Round), this is a good days walking, and across the lake lies the Wasdale Screes.

So many mountains to climb and ridges to scramble, this valley has great sketching opportunities at every turn. My paintings include the summer and winter panoramic views of the valley from Yewbarrow to Scafell and a watercolour study of Great Gable from the packhorse bridge in the village.
