I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in the English Lake District, living and working in the village of Invermoriston at the very heart of the Scottish Highlands. My extensive portfolio of original mountain and landscape art embraces a broad range of subject material featuring principally the mountain landscapes of the The Scottish Highlands, Snowdonia and The Lake District and their related flora and fauna. My original paintings, in watercolours, acrylics and alkyd oils are offered for sale directly through the secure on-line shopping facility provided on this website.
All my Original Paintings are signed and supplied with bevelled mount embellished with a single ‘v’ groove. The finished product is then packed into a strong black archival quality presentation gift box making it the perfect gift and providing the recipient the option of framing the artwork in a moulding of their choice.
I have been selling my paintings exclusively through this website since 2005. Every order receives my personal attention from receipt to despatch, ensuring that each and every customer enjoys a first class product and a friendly and efficient service. I am happy to answer customers’ enquiries before they place an order.
Snowdon Horseshoe across Llynnau Mymbyr from Royal Bridge, Capel Curig is one of my favourite mountain views. I have used a limited palette of watercolours for this painting. The colours used were, french ultramarine blue, caput mortuum violet, naples yellow and raw sienna. These colours are all from the professional range of Winsor and Newton, with the soft grey tones of the clouds and mountains a mix of the blue and violet. The paper used is from St Cuthbert's Mill - Saunders High White - the rough texture of the paper emphasises the rugged mountain landscape.
This is a new style for me with the mountain and ridges outlined in the grey, and is part of a set of three watercolours of the highest peaks of Snowdonia, The Lake District and Scottish Highlands - Snowdon Horseshoe, Wastwater and the Scafells and Ben Nevis.
