Stac Pollaidh

One of the iconic view points for  Stac Pollaidh paintings is across Loch Lurgainn, this is an instantly recognisable profile of this popular Assynt and Coigach mountain. An area where the mountains rise from the sea.

A shapely peak displaying a rocky crest of Torridonian sandstone, with many weathered pinnacles and steep gullies. A small mountain with a big ambition. The peak is very accessible with a well worn path allowing a circuit around the summit crest, and an interesting scramble to the top.

It also is a magnificent view point of the Inverpolly landscape around it, Suilven to the north, Cul Mor on your right and even to watch storms approaching from the sea, which it did on the day I climbed it.
